Six studies of a dead bird

I found this tiny little bird lying dead on the sidewalk outside my studio, it had no visible injuries, so it must have died due to the cold weather or maybe from a fall. In any case, I did the only thing I could do for it. The drawings are about the real size of the bird.  And thus, even in death beauty finds its way.

I am currently showing this piece at the Latino Art Museum in Pomona, California, along with a group of fellow Peruvian painters. You can check out all of the the pieces of the exhibition here. It runs until the 26th of May.
